Title: Thanks, Tobacco: You Killed My Mom

Description: This video was created over a one-year period. At first, it was just random use of a video camera, plus a few pictures taken during a visit in September of 2006. Of course, this was before we knew that Mom had a collapsed lung. She went in for tests, and it was discovered that she had Stage IV Lung Cancer. As we learned of the cancer diagnosis in October of 2006, we tried to get Mom down to California (from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada). It was a race against logistics and paperwork (i.e. obtaining documentation in order to cross a border and travel), which we unfortunately lost. Mom suffered a stroke, ironically on the same day as she received her birth certificate, which would have allowed her to travel to Southern California. The stroke left her left side completely paralyzed, and she was stuck in the hospital, no longer the independent woman she once was. We were summoned to fly up immediately, as we were told by her doctors that her death would not be far behind. Mom proved them...

Tobacco kills and your mother will help thousands of people in their quit smoking quest. I was a smoker for 24 years and I have stopped smoking now for 37 days and at times I have the urge to smoke but keep telling myself I am a non-smoker. Comment: I understand what you went through. Im sorry for your loss my friend, my mother and grandmother went the same way. The hardest thing was watching them in the hospital keeping the comfortable as possible. I felt so helpless watching people I love slowly die. I know it hard to record this and it is an honor to see someone who is willing to carry out the departed's wishes. I hope my children and my children's children will be smoke free. Comment: Information I just Received Directly from HEALTH CANADA to show that my Mom smoked for over 26 years before she got her warnings! The first health warnings appeared on cigarette packages in Canada in 1989; however, they were text only messages. The larger graphic warnings that are currently displayed on cigarette packs first appeared in 2000, covering 50% of the cigarette package.

Comment: Dude I love RUSH and I think it is the Smart Guy's Music, but the comment you put on my "Thanks Tobacco" Video is beyond stupid. You've tainted your own soul with negativity and for that you added to your own burdens in life.
